Day 1
Early morning (~4:00) departure from Riga to Warsaw. Arrival in Warsaw. City tour.
During the sightseeing tour we will see Castle Square with the Sigismund III Vasa Column. Castle Square is in the medieval Old Town, known for its beautiful buildings and narrow streets. The square is a traditional venue for mass events and grand concerts. The Royal Castle dominates the square; it is a monument of national culture and hosts permanent and temporary exhibitions of antique art, as well as official meetings, concerts, and symposia. Next we visit the Market Square. Everything is arranged for tourists: artists show their paintings, street musicians and actors perform, historic transport and Warsaw carriages pass by. The square also has the mermaid statue - the main symbol of Warsaw. Warsaw is one of the few European capitals where the city walls have survived; the double row of walls was built from the first half of the 14th century to the mid-16th century and strengthened with towers and forts. The oldest preserved element is the Barbican, built on the site of the old city gate by the Venetian master Gianbattista to defend the New Town Gate. The northern part of the Barbican, reinforced with four semicircular towers, remains as the outer wall of the town hall. After WWII destruction, the Barbican and part of the city wall were restored. We will also see St. John’s Cathedral and St. Anne’s Church. Lunch (extra fee). Transit across Poland. Check-in at a hotel in Poland.

We will stroll across Charles Bridge, and those who wish can make a wish at the statue of one of the city’s patron saints, John of Nepomuk. Following Prague’s winding lanes, we reach Old Town Square, where the astronomical clock on the old town hall marks the passage of time every hour with chimes and a procession of the 12 apostles. We will see St. Nicholas Church, the Jan Hus monument, and the Church of Our Lady, then walk medieval streets to the main square of the New Town - Wenceslas Square.
